Alison went for a run this a.m. in Springfield, I tried to sleep in but no go. We showered and headed into Peoria. Our host for the morning , Sara , created tasty crepes for us. After having my fill I vegged out on the couch with a magazine while the girls caught up. After, farewells we went on the neverending quest for a room. Sorry, Steven, but the price keeps going up. We have developed a sense of entitlement since Salina... we are bound and determined not to go thru that again.
Success with the room. We met up with another of Alison's friends - Chris - for dinner. He is a very pleasant and entertaining young man. Works for the Peoria Journal Star on the swing shift, so we had to cut our visit short so he could get back to work. Came back to the room to plot out tomorrow. The goal is to make it to Columbus, OH. It is only 6 hours. NO Problemo for us road warriors or should I say road amazons? We will decide tomorrow nite if we feel like pushing on to DC or spend another nite somewhere before that.
Here's hoping for interesting pictures tomorrow.

Ah, here's to those yeasty smells - reminds me of the old home brew days... Columbus, OH - home of Salmon Chase, the erstwhile Secretary of the Treasury (under Lincoln, of course!) and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and rabid pretender to the presidency. I think his home is some sort of historical monument there. Also, as an alternative, I once ate (and drank) at a nice microbrewery in the old downtown section. Next to the Petrified Forest, nothing gets the adrenaline going like the Lincoln connection... Have fun! SW
Karen,
If you're making such good time on the road, it may be worthwhile to take a trip down memory lane and show Alison Oil City. You can download some Gary Puckett and the Union Gap tunes and cruise down the old streets... :)
also, show her your favorite street to walk down in the white bikini.. you california hussy, you.
love you guys, glad you're having a good time in the midwest. say hi to mccain if you see him!!!!!!
the other.. SW
